Karo Mining Holdings lists first of its kind bond on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange raising US$36.8 million. Total Eren, Chariot Limited sign MOU to develop, finance, build and operate a 30 MWp solar pv project that will provide competitive solar electricity for the Karo project.

Tharisa exercises its farm- in option and acquires a controlling interest in Karo for US$ 27.0 million thereby increasing its shareholding in Karo Holdings from 26.8% to 66.3%. Leto will retain the balance of 33.7%. Bernard Pryor appointed as Karo MD

Implementation study completed with delineation of a Tier 1 Asset +20 year LOM established Output of +150koz PGMs

KMH acquired its project concession area, measuring 23 903 ha, in March 2018 and entered into the Investment Framework Agreement with the Republic of Zimbabwe. The project is located in the Mashonaland West province of Zimbabwe, approximately 80 km southwest of Harare and 35 km southeast of Chegutu. The country is well connected by road and rail infrastructure, with several border crossings from this land locked country. Karo Platinum was granted the right to mine for five years pursuant to a Special Grant issued on 8 June 2018.

Zimplats had declared an indicated and inferred resource over the Karo project area, with the last declaration made in June 2017. The declaration states that the project area contains 96.4 Moz of PGMs (4E basis).
In January 2014, the Government of Zimbabwe issued an expression of interest for companies to further develop PGM opportunities, to which Karo submitted an expression of interest.

Subsequently the Special Grant was superseded by a Mining Lease over the same concession area for the life of mine. The Mining Lease was issued on 12 March 2021.
